生まれたときに、唇や口蓋、歯茎、舌などが分かれたままの状態になっていることがあり、これを口唇口蓋裂といい、発音がしづらくなります。また、舌がん、咽頭がん、喉頭がんなどの治療のために舌や喉などを切除した場合には、音声言語を使うのが困難になります。

At birth, the lips, palate, gums, and tongue may remain separated, which is called cleft lip and palate, making pronunciation difficult. In addition, if the tongue, throat, or other parts of the body have been removed for treatment of tongue, pharyngeal, or laryngeal cancer, the patient may have difficulty using spoken language.

小田哲生さんは、舌がんのため舌を全摘出されました。これまでとは異なる形で音楽に関わって活躍しています。
In “Me and My Language”: SASAKI Yoshinari has had a cleft lip and palate, and is developing a pronunciation recognition application. ODA Tetsuo has had his tongue completely removed due to tongue cancer. He is now involved and active in music in a different way.
