事故や病気の手術などで、手や腕の一部がなくなったり、動かせる範囲が限られてしまったりすることがあります。この場合、手話言語に必要な形をつくったり、動作をしたりすることが難しくなり、手話言語を使うのが困難になります。

Due to an accident or medical surgery, a part of the hand or arm may be lost or the range of motion may become limited. In such cases, it becomes difficult for the person to make the necessary hand shapes and movements to articulate sign language expressions.
