- 私の最近の研究活動は、 手話の音声記述のためのシステムを完成させ、 記述することです(スコット・k・リデルとの共同研究)。 現在、 手話話者の前方の表現空間における手の配置について、 体系的な記述法を準備しており、 私たちの研究では、手は場所よりも方向に合わせていることが分かっています。 この研究の目標は、あらゆる言語のあらゆる手話の生成を記述することができる表記法を作成することです。そうすることで、 手話がどのように生成されたかを正確に知ることができ、手話を統一的な方法で記述できるようになります。

- Phonetic Description of Signed Languages, Isolated and Emerging Signed Languages, Cultural and Linguistic Issues in the Education of Deaf People
- Current Research Interest
- My most current research activity has been completing and describing a system for the phonetic description of signs (with Scott k. Liddell). We are currently preparing a set of systematic descriptors for the placement of the hands in the articulatory space in front of the signer. We propose that the hands locate and move on - and are aligned with- directional bearings rather than with loci. Our goal is to produce a system of notation that is able to describe the production of any sign in any language so that a viewer of the notation will know exactly how a sign was produced so that signed languages can be described with a uniform methodology.
