話者が同じだと思っていても、物理的には異なる発音をしていることがあります。たとえば、日本語の「ん」には、物理的には６種類以上の発音がありますが、すべて「ん」と認識されています。これらの発音の違いは、舌や唇の動かし方が異なっているため生じます。
Even if a speaker thinks it is the same, the pronunciation might be physically different. For example, “N” in Japanese has more than six pronunciations that are physically different, but these are all considered to be “N”. Such differences in pronunciation are caused by different movements in the tongue and lips.
