言い間違え?習得の軌跡? Mistakes or Trajectory of Language Acquisition?

子供が発する言葉の「間違い」は、音や手形などの形式が正確に産出できなかったり、形式と意味を適切に結びつけられないために起こります。桃を指して「りんご」と言うなど、適用可能な範囲を外れて形式を使うと「間違い」と判断されてしまいますが、そのような「間違い」は、学習したパターンを生産的に使う能力の賜物でもあります。

“Mistakes” in language uttered by children are caused by inappropriate sounds and hand shapes, and inappropreate connections between formats and meanings. If a child uses a format outside of an applicable range, such as pointing at a peach and uttering “apple”, it is determined as a “mistake”. However, such “mistakes” are the result of an ability to productively utilize learned patterns.
