ヒトは、横隔膜を下に動かすことにより、口の外にある空気を肺に取り込み、それを解放することで口から出します。身体の機能としては、酸素を取り込むために呼吸をおこなっていますが、その呼吸の際に出入りする空気を用いて音声言語を発音しています。

By moving the diaphragm downward, humans take air from outside the mouth into the lungs and release it to come out through the mouth. The body breathes to take in oxygen, and the air that enters and exits during this breathing is used to produce spoken language.
