パキスタン出身で、様々な言語が話される環境で育ちました。大学では、中東史の教員免許とイスラム教の宣教師の資格を取得しました。24歳で大学院修了後は、パキスタン各地で宣教師として勤務し、28歳の時に日本に来ました。30歳の時から現在まで、日本アハマディア ムスリム協会の会長兼主任宣教師を務めています。

I grew up in Pakistan, in an environment where multiple languages were spoken. After completing graduate school at the age of 24, I worked as a missionary in various parts of Pakistan before coming to Japan at the age of 28. From the age of 30 to the present, I have served as President and Chief Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association of Japan.

人とその他の生き物の大きな違いのひとつは、言葉を使い、自分の気持ちや想いを的確に伝えられるか否かということだと思います。これが人類の発展や繁栄にも大きな影響を与えたと思います。また人間同士でも、言語によってその民族などを区別することができます。一つの言語はその民族、文化、地域の中でみんなが共通に使うものであり、その集団の団結力を示すものになります。言葉はこれまでの世代とこれからの世代をつなぐ架け橋のようなものなので、この架け橋が崩れることのないように守っていきたいです。
One of the biggest differences bewteen human and other creatures is that we use language to convey our feeling and our thoughts precisely. I take that this was one of the causes that mankind became developed and are flourishing. Among humans as well, language can be a symbol of belonging to a ethnic group. A language, which is shared by members belonging to the same ethnic, cultural, or regional group, indicates how strong the bonds are among the members. Language is just like a bridge connecting past generations and next generations and, so that this bridge does not fall down, we should conserve it with care.
