出産トラブルから重度脳性麻痺児として出生する。体は殆ど動かせず、発語することも出来ない。自らの言葉を表現する手段として五十音表を用いたパソコンと出会い、やがて筆談による表現方法を体得する。「心を開放する手段」として多くの詩作を行っている。

Horie was born with severe cerebral palsy due to complications at birth. She can hardly move her body and cannot speak. As a means of expressing her own words, she first tried using a computer system with a syllabic chart, and subsequently learned the method of expressing herself through writing. She writes many poems as a means of “releasing her mind”.
